The key to my heart

My favorite truism (coined by old Happy Hour pal, Claude) is, "Nothing says I love you like a bottle of gin." Mmmm...Bombay.

My second favorite is, "The only thing better than a cocktail is a free cocktail."

Happily, this evening I will be attending a cocktail hour at a local "boutique" hotel that my work does a lot of business with (names not included to protect the dooce-able). And before you ask, no, I’m not in the sex industry even though it sounds like I am, doesn’t it?

But back to the free cocktails: the people over in the marketing department at said hotel are GENIUSES. Just like I will never break up with Beard Boy until the day he stops making me breakfast, I will also never use another hotel until they stop ponying up the free gin.

I have no defense against those sorts of frenchfringe benefits.

Bombay's fine, but...have you ever tried Cascade Mountain gin from the distillery in Bend (http://www.bendistillery.com/cmg.htm)? Their Crater Lake vodka is superb, as well. No, I'm not a shareholder!
