So, I was reading a post about drinking the other day and it got me to thinking: Why do we carry around such guilt about having fun with beverages?
I like drinking. It's fun. That's right, I said it, it's fun.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think people should go out and get blasted and run over a bunch of kiddies nor do I think that hiding gin in the laundry basket is such a great idea (the poor gin's feelings will be bruised!). However, there ain’t nothing wrong with having some drinks and kicking back - even if the party lasts all day.
Due to myriad Public Awareness Campaigns, we all know the cons of drinking. Here are some pros, just off the top of my head:
Drinking loosens those inhibitions so that you’re finally able to break down and tell those old friends of yours that you love them.
It makes people seem friendlier.
For that matter, it makes people seem more attractive.
Drinking increases pool and dart playing abilities (cue The Entertainer).
Some drinking is good for you – and not in just the it’ll-get-you-laid-easier way. Can’t say that about Coca-Cola now can you?
Join me and my crusade to break free of the shackles that society is placing upon my RIGHT to enjoy a good beverage.
